Swinging Portraits

Since the establishment of the Salzburg Autumn Jazz-Herbst in 1996, photographer Peter Brunner has documented the events, concerts, sessions and rehearsals of the festival with his camera. Peter Brunner’s signature
style are the so-called “Swinging Portraits”. All his portraits are captured during performances. They show the artists as they concentrate on their performance and immerse in the rhythm of their music. His pictorial
language is spontaneous and gripping, his photos are characterized by a very specific and individual atmosphere. The exhibition will comprise approximately 40 photographs of jazz musicians from the 15year history
of the Salzburg Autumn Jazz-Herbst, testifying to the broad musical and visual scope of this annual event.
