Frau im Mond
(Silent Movie)

Based on the novel «Die Frau im Mond» (1928) by Lang's then-wife and collaborator Thea von Harbou, it is often considered to be one of the first "serious" science fiction films. Reportedly, Adolf Hitler was so overwhelmed by Woman in the Moon that he used the rocket depicted in the film as the prototype for the dreaded V1 and V2 assault missiles.
