ORF-Lange Nacht der Museen 2025

For the ORF Long Night of Museums on October 4, 2025, the Museum der Moderne Salzburg at the Mönchsberg and in the Old Town (Rupertinum) will open their doors deep into the night. Visitors can look forward to a diverse program of exhibitions, dialogue, and artistic interventions.

Program at the Mönchsberg

  • Visual Echoes – Counter-Images in the Image Stream
    Short guided tours: 6:00 | 7:30 | 9:00 p.m.

  • Rob Voerman. Entropic Empire
    Short guided tours: 6:30 | 8:00 | 9:30 p.m.

  • Nika Neelova. Cascade
    Short guided tours: 7:00 | 8:30 | 10:00 p.m.

  • Tinker Workshop (6:00–10:00 p.m.)
    In Rob Voerman’s secret workshop, cardboard constructions come to life.

Program in the Old Town (Rupertinum)

  • Slice of Life. From Beckmann to Jungwirth
    Short guided tours: 6:15 | 7:15 | 8:15 p.m.

  • Image Shift. Turning Point in Time
    Short guided tours with the Salzburg Museum: 6:45 | 7:45 | 8:45 p.m.

  • Creative Workshop: Try Paper (6:00–10:00 p.m.)
    In the newly redesigned Rupertinum studio, small magazines and mini books are created.

The exhibitions at both venues also await discovery:
At the Mönchsberg, encounter expansive sculptures in Cascade by Nika Neelova, dystopian architectures in Rob Voerman’s Entropic Empire, and media-critical video installations in Visual Echoes – Counter-Images in the Image Stream. Video, film, photography, slide. In the Tinker Workshop, visitors can create their own constructions.

At the Rupertinum, Image Shift. Turning Point in Time – The History of Early Photography in Salzburg 1839–1877 (a Salzburg Museum guest exhibition) and Slice of Life. From Beckmann to Jungwirth showcase how art has responded to crises and upheavals—from Classical Modernism to early photography.

Participation is possible with the Long Night ticket.
