Opening BASELITZ MANIFESTE
Old Town (Rupertinum)
With the exhibition BASELITZ MANIFESTE, the Museum der Moderne Salzburg dedicates a comprehensive presentation to the painter, sculptor, and printmaker Georg Baselitz and cordially invites you to the opening.
Georg Baselitz is one of the most influential artistic figures of our time. Focusing on his early graphic works, the exhibition at the Rupertinum brings together key pieces in which the artist explored themes of German history, identity, and the role of the artist. Structured for the first time around the four manifestos Baselitz wrote in the 1960s, the exhibition offers new perspectives on his artistic practice.
Conceived in close collaboration with the artist, the exhibition traces the beginnings of a body of work that profoundly shaped the course of post-war art history.
At the opening, Harald Krejci (Director), Barbara Herzog (Curator), and further distinguished guests will speak.
We look forward to welcoming you.
